If I want to use Lego bricks to design spaceships, then I should have some sort of baseline to set the scale. I figured the – now unfortunately retired – US Space Shuttle orbiter would make for a good vehicle to set the scale. It’s just under 40m long and under 25m wide.
This does mean that I will have trouble building “tiny” spaceships to scale – Soyuz, Apollo, and so on will all be a problem but I think I can live with that.



I am quite happy with how that thing turned out.
I did create a slightly improved version with a different nose shape, but for the life of me I can decide which one I like better.
